Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to achieve final game in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a large pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest gamblers in the world. While betting on online poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He often competes in the 200/400 NL max buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus frequently buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I know Hansen is an excellent poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the game with the min buy-in.

Playing for the minimum takes most of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be 1 of the best poker players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amount. I believe television can alter our perception of the real world at times. The best players in the world might be players you have will not have heard of. Gus can be seen wagering on web poker on Full Tilt. He generally participates in big stakes omaha hold’em and Holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his talents in cash rounds?
