No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the globe by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to discover whatever he possibly could about poker. He routinely would tell his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not let the negative feedback from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the best poker players on the planet.
He began competing seriously after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated a number of the better known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal love for poker. He states that he is picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his success. He admits to making blunders in each game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a normal basis.
